The role he plays in the next game is still unclear, but there are some plausible ways this important character might be a factor in the future of the series.
Diablo 3 explores the depths of the Tyrael saga as he becomes the Fallen Star by tearing off his wings and crashing to Sanctuary where the descendants of the Nephalem are residing. In joining with one of the powerful descendant, Tyrael is able to eliminate the Evils of the First Order and takes charge of the Black Soulstone. When the Archangel of Death, Maltheal, went after the stone, and then became angry with all his allies He was the one who was the one to send his friend into Pandemonium to kill death itself.
Tyrael decides to remain in his mortal form . He then is reunited with his angelic brothers to become both his Aspect Justice and Wisdom. Diablo 3 ends with him thinking about whether his mortal companion, who might be corrupted, will one day become the new menace of Heaven, Hell, and Sanctuary as well as the very existence of life itself. In the end, The Aspect of Justice and Wisdom will not be able to sit back while Inarius makes his way through Hell to find his old love, Lilith.
